FIFA: Referees test of wearing body cameras expands to global events
FIFA Council (IFAB) has approved the expansion of the referee's body camera test to domestic and international competitions worldwide. Previously, the technology conducted a successful broadcast usage test at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The trial was initially approved at the IFAB annual conference in March this year and is limited to FIFA competitions. Now other events have the opportunity to test the system and provide valuable information and feedback. Events that wish to participate in the trial must apply for permission from IFAB and FIFA, which will provide participants with detailed advice and technical specifications to ensure smooth implementation.
