I received a transfer of 200,000 euros from my son and was asked to pay tax! French media: Dembélé’s mother files lawsuit against tax authorities

"Le Parisien" reported that Dembele's mother, Fatimata Dembele, is in a legal battle with the French tax authorities over a 200,000-euro payment from her son.

This payment occurred in 2017, and Dembele called it a "40th birthday gift" to his mother. However, the tax department identified the money as "high income" and levied "high-income special contribution tax" and "additional income tax" on his mother accordingly.

On Wednesday, Fatimata Dembélé officially filed a request with the Rennes Administrative Court to cancel the two taxes.

The report also mentioned that in order to support Dembele’s football career, his mother made a special trip from Vernon to Rennes in 2010 so that Dembele, who was only 13 years old at the time, could successfully enter the youth training center of the Rennes Club.
