World Sports: UEFA was going to fine Barcelona 60 million euros, but if Barcelona abide by the rules, it will be reduced to 15 million
According to the latest news from World Sports News, UEFA originally planned to fine Barcelona 60 million euros. After negotiations, if Barcelona comply with the rules of financial fairness, the fine can be reduced to 15 million euros.
Previously, Barcelona violated UEFA financial regulations for the second consecutive year and faced UEFA punishment.
Sports Sports said that Barcelona faces huge fines from UEFA up to 60 million euros. However, Barcelona president Laporta had active communication with UEFA president Cheferin and after weeks of negotiations. The two sides finally reached a preliminary agreement: If Barcelona can comply with UEFA and La Liga's fiscal fairness policies, the fine can be reduced to 15 million euros, and if it fails to comply, it will still have to pay 60 million euros.
In the communication, Barcelona emphasized its unique operating model, as a non-shareholding club, it cannot improve its financial situation through capital increase. And this is the approach most other clubs have taken and are recognized by UEFA.
And Barcelona has adopted what is called "leverage operation" to increase revenue, which is supported by La Liga President Tebas. In Spain, this practice of selling assets and buying back in the future is accepted.
Shiti said that the fine is still a considerable expense for Barcelona. However, the club believes that the additional benefits generated this season are enough to make up for the impact of the 15 million euro fine. At present, Barcelona is having a final discussion with UEFA to clarify specific penalties and the financial fair rules that need to be followed.
