According to the Mavericks media "MFFL NATION", the Mavericks are close to reaching an agreement with Jay Triano to hire him as an assistant coach. Triano served as head coach for the Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns, and served as the Sacramento Kings' chief assistant coach for the past season. In the 2008-11 season, Triano served as the head coach of the Raptors, leading the team to a total of 87 wins and 142 losses; in the 2017-18 season, Triano served as the head coach of the Suns, leading the team to a total of 21 wins and 5 losses. In the 2024-25 season, Triano served as the Kings' chief assistant coach. So far, Triano has 19 years of assistant coaching career and 4 years of head coaching career.
