NBA Analysis Network gave Yang Hansen the following evaluation: "When Yang played for the Chinese team, he showed a soft feel and good footwork skills. Although his speed and athletic ability were slightly insufficient, it may limit his performance. However, he provided the Spurs with the possibility of a double tower combination in the inside."
