In the second season of "Starting 5", Durant responded to Barkley's "bus driver" remarks back then.

After Durant left the Thunder to join the Warriors and won 2 championships and 2 FMVPs, Barkley still disapproved of Durant and compared Durant to a "bus passenger" on the winning team instead of a "bus driver."

Durant responded: "I took the bus, I filled the car with gas, I was the gas, I was the wheels, the axles, the brakes, every part of the bus was me. I was behind the bus, pushing this damn bus. I sat in the back of the bus, and I played any role for that team. We can use these metaphors however we want, and I have many similar comparisons. "But Barkley never understood what it was like to put down his arrogance and help a city or a small town win a championship. His whole life, his whole career, revolves around himself. His whole life revolves around how he feels. He can say whatever he wants, and he can say it to anyone, because 'I am Charles Barkley, and I can say whatever I want.'" Durant continued.
