Reporter: The Mavericks will choose between Dennis Smith and Brandon Williams

Shams reported that guard "TV" Dennis Smith agreed to sign with the Mavericks for one year.

Clutchpoints famous reporter Brett Siegel posted an analysis: "If Smith wants to get a position on the official list, the Mavericks will need to give up Brandon Williams or trade someone."

Salary expert Bobby Marks believes: "The 15th roster quota is basically locked between Dennis Smith Jr. and Brandon Williams. According to the terms of the contract, if Williams stays in the team before the Mavericks' first game, his guaranteed salary will surge from $200,000 to $850,000."

Last season, Smith did not compete in the NBA, but played for Real Madrid.
