Mukoko: I have experienced peaks and troughs in the past few years, and now I will laugh at all the comments
In an interview with Danish TV station TV2 a few days ago, Mukoko, who moved from Dortmund to Copenhagen this summer, spoke publicly about the tough times he has experienced in the past few years for the first time. He said he has learned lessons from that stage and hopes to regain the fun of playing football. After Copenhagen's 1-1 draw with Fredericia, Mukoko recalled the previous years in an interview: "I have felt the feeling of standing at the top and also the feeling of falling to the bottom. This period was really difficult. I must be honest, on some nights, I just kept immersed in my thoughts." The 20-year-old striker also said that he learned from that experience: "But that experience taught me to be modest, down-to-earth, and not to be arrogant." Mukkoko, who plays as a striker, once defeated all sides in the youth team and became Dortmund's youngest Bundesliga debut player. He was once placed in high hopes, but in the end he failed to truly gain a foothold in Dortmund (99 appearances contributed 18 goals and 8 assists). He was in a downturn and was loaned to Nice last season, but he also had no success there. Mukocco: "There are a lot of critical reports about me. When I was in Nice, someone wrote that I was in poor condition. But I actually trained harder than ever. I trained alone three times a day, and found new motivation from my own inner self in the process." Now, Mukococo hopes to regain the fun of playing football: "It doesn't matter to me no matter what people say or write about me. I will laugh it off whatever it is. . I trust myself and my body. I feel very eager to play again. ” Copenhagen coach Jacob Nestrup played a decisive role in the process of Mukoko’s transfer negotiations with the club: “In the conversation, the coach gave me a sense of security. This is exactly what I need after those tough times.” In the next warm-up match this Saturday, Mukoko will play against Hamburg with Copenhagen.
