Engineering leader: The goal is to return to the Camp Nou on November 22, and the rehearsal inspection went smoothly

Joan Centeles, the person in charge of the Nou Camp renovation project, said that there will be no big problem in returning to the Nou Camp on November 22.

Barcelona Club had previously renovated its home stadium, Camp Nou, but the progress of the project was later than expected, and Barcelona has not returned to play at Camp Nou so far. But on Friday local time, Barcelona's first team held a public training session at the Camp Nou, with 23,000 fans in attendance. This is a "dress rehearsal" before the official opening of the Camp Nou stadium, and it seems that everything is going according to plan, even better than expected.

Barcelona hopes to hold its La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao on November 22 at Camp Nou, and engineering chief Centelles is optimistic. Centeles said: "Everything went very smoothly, just as we expected. There are always areas for improvement, and every game may have some surprises, whether we like it or not. But the list of surprises that we expected to be long actually turned out to be very short: for example, some bathrooms did not have soap, some signage was missing..."

Centeles continued : "With the collaboration of the Barcelona City Hall, we are working closely to see if we can obtain a license to hold the game on November 22. I don't think we will have any big problems with this common goal. The goal of all of us is to return to the stadium on the 22nd."

Centres also said that the Barcelona City Hall left a good impression during the inspection of the project. "The technical inspection went very smoothly, and I am very satisfied with the completion of Phase 1B. But the area is very large, and we had to check everything: stairs, handrails, evacuation systems... Today we confirmed that these are working very well, frankly, excellent."

Finally, Centerles also talked about the procedures for emergency evacuation of the stadium in case of an accident: "The goal of reducing the evacuation time from 12 minutes to 8 minutes is practical and not just a rehearsal."
