Tutu: The three veterans of Inter Milan’s defense are expected to leave the team next summer, and defenders such as Ordonez and Solet are being inspected
According to "Turin Sports News", Inter Milan plans to make a major overhaul of the defense next summer and is inspecting many players. The contracts of Inter Milan’s three veteran defenders, Acerbi, De Vrij and Darmian, will expire next summer. In February next year, Acerbi will turn 38 and De Vrij will turn 34. In the coming December, versatile defenseman Damian will be 36 years old. The above three players may leave the team after the end of the season because the club prefers not to renew their contracts. This decision is also in line with the rejuvenation strategy proposed by Oaktree Capital starting from this summer. Although there are still seven and a half months and many games and goals still need to be achieved, Marotta, Ausilio and Bacchin currently believe that by the summer of 2026, there is a 90% probability that they will need to sign at least one central defender, and possibly even two central defenders. Considering that Akanji is on loan from Manchester City and has a buyout clause of 15 million euros, it is almost certain that he will be bought out, regardless of whether the conditions related to winning the Serie A title are met. Unless, of course, there is an urgent need to buy a defender in January. Otherwise, everything will be postponed until the end of the season to make a decision. The two defenders currently on the list are: 21-year-old Ecuadorian Joel Ordonez from Club Brugge and 25-year-old defender Solet from Udinese. Inter Milan have a good relationship with Club Brugge, helped by the recent transfer deal for Alexander Stankovic. Inter Milan considered Solet last summer, but the deal ultimately failed to materialize due to off-field factors. Ordonez is worth more than 30 million euros, and Solet is worth at least 25 million euros. In addition, there are some other options, including the experienced Lazio defender Gila (25 years old, contract expires in 2027, also attracted the attention of AC Milan), and two young people who emerged at the beginning of this season and attracted the attention of Juventus. They are Sassuolo's Muharemovic (born in 2003, Juventus has 50% of future transfer shares) and Lecce's Thiago Gabriel (born in 2004).
