Start your coaching career! Official: Tony Parker appointed as head coach of France U17 youth team
The French Basketball Federation announced today that former NBA star Tony Parker will start his coaching career and serve as the head coach of the French U17 youth team. Parker will lead the team to participate in the U17 World Cup to be held in Turkey next year. Parker said: "I have been thinking about coaching for two years. I told myself that this is the next step in my career. I miss the feeling on the court, the adrenaline rush and the state of challenging myself." Parker won four NBA championships with the Spurs (2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014), and represented the French men's basketball team in 181 games, winning the European Basketball Championship in 2013.
